Abstract Scope |
In some sheet metal forming processes, such as roll forming, which mostly involves a series of bending and unbending steps. It is not enough to simulate the forming using only the tensile data of the material. In this paper, a new pure bending test is introduced to obtain more accurate characterization properties of materials. The pure bending and tension experiments of ultra-high strength steel were carried out respectively, and then the obtained data were subjected to finite element simulation of roll forming. Finally, the simulation results are compared with the actual roll forming experiments, and the results show that the data obtained by the pure bending experiment can better predict the shape of the product. |
