Abstract Scope |
Servo press forming becomes an attractive tools by controlling the velocity of deformation in macro-scale applications but few literature focus on servo press microforming. This study developed a desktop servo press with the programmable slide motion and use a pure titanium sheet with a thickness of 0.5 mm to draw the circular cups. The diameter of punch is 5 mm with the corner radius of 0.5, 1 and 2.5 mm. The pulsating and crank motions are used to compare the effect of drawing depth in regarding to varying drawing speed. Experimental results show that pulsating motion with the hybrid drawing speed (5 mm/s for before critical stroke and 50 mm/s for after critical stroke) can produce deeper forming depth. The smaller punch radius the slower drawing speed for after critical stroke. Crank motion with a higher drawing speed (50 mm/s) can improve the drawing depth but less than pulsating motion. |
