Abstract Scope |
The focus of this paper is mainly study the effect of a novel heat-assisted incremental forming method on the process parameter and the microstructure of formed part. Firstly, the cranioplate processing desktop machine was developed. Secondly, a novel alternate spiral tool trajectory is generated, compared with the conventional unidirectionally tool trajectory, the alternate tool trajectory optimizes the forming precision of formed part, also completely eliminates the torsion phenomenon. Thirdly, the crystallinity of formed part under different process conditions and the molecule chain orientation of sheet under different direction tool movement were analyzed from the microscopic. Fourth, a constitutive model combine with the microstructural characteristics of polymers was proposed. Through study of simulation results and experimental results, the optimal combination of process parameters for polymers heat-assisted incremental forming was obtained. Finally, the process window of heat-assisted incremental forming for cranial implants was obtained. |
