Abstract Scope |
True stress-strain curve has significant role in the plasticity theory and material engineering. As a result, material properties, including the true stress–strain curves, are indispensable for process design engineers because the accuracy of a simulation depends mainly on the properties of material used. After the onset of necking, the true flow stress- true strain data from a tensile specimen should be corrected because of stress triaxiality state on the neck section. Various correction methods have been proposed for this purpose and can be found in the literature, but only a few methods are applicable. In this study, a new method is proposed with introducing a number of thin walled elements. A numerical technique is used to correct stress and stress distribution on the neck section. The solution of the proposed approach is compared with methods such as Bridgeman and numerical simulation.
