Abstract Scope |
Central bursting is the most common forming defect during the cross wedge rolling process. TC4 alloy is a typical titanium alloy using in aviation industry. In this paper, the finite element simulation is used to investigate the cross wedge rolling of a part made of TC4 alloy. According to the material flow characteristics and stress-strain distribution under different rolling conditions, the main process parameters that influencing on the central bursting defects are determined. Then the process parameters such as rolling speed, temperature, forming angle and widening angle of tools on the central bursting defects during the cross wedge rolling were analyzed and the control strategy were proposed. The reliability of the above theoretical analysis are verified by the experimental ones. |
