Abstract Scope |
An element called SPACE MESH is proposed for FEM simulation in this paper. The space mesh is square-shaped elements dividing the space in which the deformation happens. The work piece is dispersed into dots called Particles and linked with lines. The nodal values of the space mesh, such as velocity, are calculated by FEM. The deformation of work piece is simulated by interpolation from the nodal values of the space mesh in which the work piece is involved. The physical values, such as strain and stress, are transferred to from the particles to the space mesh in which the particles are involved and the simulation proceeds to the next step. So the both of shape and position of the space mesh used in the simulation are not changed when the calculation is progressed. Consequently, the large deformation can be simulated without termination caused by shape irregularity of the mesh. |
