Abstract Scope |
The microstructures and corrosion behavior of TiNbMoZr0.75Co and TiNbMoZrTa high entropy alloys (HEAs) were studied. The existing stable phases were predicted though simulations using Pandat software. The as-casted microstructure features including the solidified phases and phase fractions were simulated. It was found that the Ti–Zr–Nb–Ta–Mo HEAs showed a dendrite structure with two body-centered-cubic (BCC) solid solution phases. Ti-Zr rich BCC1 phase and Ti-Nb-Mo rich BCC2 phase. Furthermore, the highly-protective oxide films formed on the surface of Ti–Zr–Nb–Ta–Mo HEA resulted in the high corrosion resistance. |
