Abstract Scope FeCrAl alloys have gained significant recognition as crucial structural materials for the advancement of next-generation fission and fusion reactors, thanks to their remarkable resistance to high-temperature creep, oxidation, and irradiation. Efforts to enhance the properties of FeCrAl alloys continue, with a primary focus on the formation of nano-precipitates, such as oxide and nitride, to augment their characteristics. This study centers on the fabrication of FeCrAl alloys under an N2 atmosphere using laser powder bed fusion (L-PBF) techniques, aiming to investigate the impact of different nitride precipitates on microstructural features, molten pool stability, and mechanical properties. Through this research, valuable insights can be gained to optimize the performance and application of FeCrAl alloys in critical nuclear environments, contributing to advancements in nuclear materials science and reactor safety.
