Abstract Scope The performance of industrial refractory ceramics plays a critical role in the economic success of many high temperature processing industries. Some of the industry’s current challenges include integration of new materials into commercial manufacturable solutions, quantitatively predicting failure, moving toward clean and sustainable growth, application of computational design, data analytics and Industry 4.0. Challenges, selected innovative solutions and practical visions for the future will be shared.
