Abstract Scope |
We conducted experiments with four-binary and four-ternary diffusion couples to improve the accuracy of Co-Ni-Re-Ti mobility descriptions in the NIST Co-Ni mobility database, which contains Co-Ni-Al-Cr-Re-Ta-Ti-W. Optimizing mobility parameters for the quaternary system has the advantage of allowing validation by each ternary system. The parameters were optimized based on the least square errors between the composition profiles of interdiffusion experiment data and calculated composition profiles by DICTRA using the constrained global optimization method. This approach enables the use of multicomponent composition profiles for optimization, eliminating the need to calculate multicomponent diffusion coefficients and paving the way for more efficient research in the future. In case of discrepancies in the mobility parameters, the selection was based on the parameter with the smaller error across all related interdiffusion data simultaneously. Some challenges of implementing the optimized parameters into the database will be discussed. |
