||Influence of Cr2O3 Content on Phase of Chromium-containing High-titanium Blast Furnace Slag

The presence of high content of Cr2O3 introduce a major impact on the smelting-reduction and slagging processes in the blast furnace process. Therefore the effect of Cr2O3 content on the phase of chromium-containing high-titanium blast furnace slag has been investigated in this work via XRD. The results show that when the added amount of Cr2O3 was a minimum of 1.5 wt.%, perovskite and spinel phases were formed in slag, resulting in increased viscosity. For good fluidity and thermal stability of blast furnace slag, the content of Cr2O3 in blast furnace slag should not exceed 0.5wt.%.
