Presentation Title Applying Biochar Composite Briquette for Energy Saving in Blast Furnace Ironmaking

Abstract Scope In this research, iron oxide-carbon composite briquette was prepared using ultrafine iron oxide fine (Size=2.0 um), biochar fines (Size=200.0 um) by heat treatment using. reduction behavior and reduction kinetics of the briquette under simulated blast furnace atmosphere were investigated. Result showed that the briquette had a good anti-pulverization capability under the BF environment. The reduction of iron oxide in the briquette could proceed much faster than the conventional BF burden. Therefore, by lowering the thermal reserve zone in the BF, the briquette could be applied in BF to improve the performance and reducing the CO2 emission in the BF ironmaking.
