Presentation Title Effect of melt superheat on microstructure and texture of non-oriented electrical steel sheet produced by the ultra-thin strip casting

Abstract Scope As a new process, ultra-thin strip sub rapid solidification technology has inherent advantages in the production of non-oriented silicon steel, with excellent initial texture and short process flow However, there is no precedent for mass production of non-oriented silicon steel by ultra-thin strip process in the world at present. The strip continuous casting process of 2.5si and 3.5si was simulated by the strip continuous casting thermal simulation device, and the air-cooled strip samples were obtained. The experiment results reveal that the superheat and the Si content have a significant effect on the strip microstructure. Besides, with the increase of superheat, the grains become coarse and form a strong {100}〈0vw〉texture .The results obtained have important implications for control of microstructure during strip casting process of non-oriented silicon steel by adjusting the Si content and superheat.
