| Abstract Scope |
This presentation will address the pressing need for industry-specific standards in additive manufacturing (AM) within the oil and gas sector, highlighting Baker Hughes’ leadership in this space. The lack of such standards has slowed AM adoption across business segments within the industry. To address some of the challenges, Baker Hughes is actively participating in the development of material and product standards through collaborations with API and ASTM.
Key contributions include participation in the development of API 20S and 20T for metallic and polymer components and integrating AM into API 6A for wellhead and tree equipment. Baker Hughes also leads efforts to qualify AM materials for harsh environments such as sour, non-sour, high-temperature, and high-pressure, thus ensuring performance and reliability.
Through these initiatives, Baker Hughes is advancing safety, quality, and industry confidence in AM technologies. |
