Abstract Scope |
We numerically investigated grain structures formed during various scanning strategies in powder bet fusion additive manufacturing. In the simulations, we employed the multi-phase-field (MPF) method. The temperature field used in the grain growth simulations was obtained from the thermo-fluid simulation in melt pool. To simulate the thermos-fluid field, we developed a MPF lattice Boltzmann simulation method, where the MPF, heat transfer, and lattice Boltzmann equations were coupled. This means that the grain growth simulation and melt pool simulations are conducted separately. In both simulations, we performed large-scale simulations and those were accelerated by GPU supercomputer. |
