||Effect of Laser Patterning on Static Loading Performance in Cylindrical 22MnB5 Tube

With supporting laser patterning technique, it is possible to tailor strength variation and making a crumble zone, effectively. This paper mainly concerns the effect of laser pattering such as line and geometrical structure on static loading performance of cylindrical tube. The laser patterning process with 6-axes robot arm can selectively enhance a desired area of the product, and thus has more degree of freedom than any other tailor strength variation process. However, since there are various variables due to the many degree of freedom, it is difficult to manufacture and test actually all parts, so an analysis for evaluating collision performance is required. We analyze the laser patterning process and propose a patterning shape that is advantageous for improving the static loading performance.
