Scope Ceramic and crystal optical materials are emerging as highly promising materials for potential utilization in a wide range of optical and photonic applications. The symposium is aimed at providing a forum for researchers, students, and entrepreneurs to present and discuss their recent scientific results on a wide variety of topics related to science and engineering issues associated with crystal and ceramic optical materials for optical and photonic application. An emphasis will be placed on the fundamental issues to advance our understanding and utilization of optical ceramic and crystal materials and related-devices.

Proposed Symposium Topics:
1. Science of optically transparent crystal and ceramic materials
2. Novel processing of transparent optical and photonic materials
3. Ceramic and crystal scintillators and spectroscopy
4. Transparent laser materials and applications
5. Micro-domain microstructure control of optical materials
6. Transparent armor materials and mechanical properties
7. Discovery of novel optical materials
8. Modeling and theory computation
