Symposium Developments in Plate and Line Pipe Steels
Sponsorship AIST Metallurgy—Processing, Products and Applications Technology Committee
Organizer(s) Daniel S. Baker, LIFT
Ashish Kumar Singh, Nucor Steel Arkansas
Pello Uranga, CEIT and TECNUN (University of Navarra)
Scope Similar to sheet steels, plate and heavy gauge steels continue to evolve at a rapid pace. These improvements come as a result of increased needs of the end users from pipe producers for oil and gas to heavy section steels for wind turbine towers and armor applications. This symposium follows the successful 2nd International Symposium on Recent Developments in Plate Steels last held in 2018. The focus of this symposium will cover a wide range of topics from steel chemistries and casting to hot rolling to accelerated cooling and quenching. Further, papers related to mechanical testing, fracture toughness, and inspection are welcome.
Abstracts Due 04/15/2021
PRESENTATIONS APPROVED FOR THIS SYMPOSIUM INCLUDE

Modified Charpy V-notch Testing of Wind Tower Steels
Optimization of Strength and Toughness for Hot-forged Bainitic Medium Carbon Steel using RSM
The Formation of Structure and Properties of Low-alloyed Steels in Hot Deformation Process
