Symposium Acta Materialia Symposium
Presentation Title Acta Materialia Silver Medal Lecture: Multi-Disciplinary Systems Optimization Approaches to Alloy Design
Author(s) Raymundo Arroyave
On-Site Speaker (Planned) Raymundo Arroyave
Abstract Scope In this talk, I will present some examples in which my collaborators, students and I have employed approaches that originate from engineering design and optimization frameworks to the accelerated discovery and design of materials. Specifically, I will provide a few examples in which we have used multi-disciplinary approaches to the design of alloys under multiple constraints and objectives. Example problems include: (1) alloy discovery as a constraint satisfaction problem; (2) Bayesian approaches to closed-loop alloy discovery; (3) path planning approaches towards multi-materials design.
