Abstract Scope High-temperature Ti alloys used in the compressors of jet engines have a limitation of their temperature capability due to low creep resistance above 600 ˚C. Then, to obtain the effective solid solution strengthening of Ti alloys, high-entropy alloys (HEA) are focused in this study. Until now, plenty of fcc or bcc - HEAs have been proposed, but only a little hcp-HEAs have been proposed, such as alloys composing of precious and expensive rare-earth elements or platinum group metals. To apply jet engines, hcp-HEA composing of light and abundant elements are necessary. In this study, hcp-HEA containing Ti was searched by investigation of phase stability change of TiZrHf by addition of different elements. The stabilization of hcp structure in Ti containing hcp-HEAs was obtained when valance electron concentration (VEC) was lower than 4.
