Abstract Scope Lithium has taken on great importance in energy storage in the massive transition to variable renewable energy, which is why new lithium recovery processes and other components are being developed. The problem for obtaining Li2CO3 from the Salar de Uyuni is the chemical composition of the brine, the magnesium/lithium ratio is 18/1. The removal of magnesium from the remaining brine that remains by evaporating only 20% of the initial brine is sufficient for the crystallization of NaCl and KCl, which then allows Ca and Mg to be separated by selective ionic precipitation in the form of marketable phosphates. The objective of this research work is the technical study of the precipitation of Ca and Mg in the form of phosphates from the residual brines of the Salar de Uyuni, after the respective recovery of KCl by evaporation - crystallization.
