The five technical divisions of TMS are pleased to sponsor the annual Student Poster Contest held during the TMS Annual Meeting & Exhibition. Undergraduate and graduate students are encouraged to participate in this dynamic and interactive event.
In addition to developing a poster presentation of technical interest to one of the TMS technical divisions, participants must meet the following requirements:
· Poster presenters must be full-time students pursuing undergraduate or graduate degrees.
· Presenters must register for the TMS Annual Meeting & Exhibition and be present to install and remove their posters.
2027 Schedule (subject to change)
Poster Installation: Monday, March 15, 2027, 12:00 to 2:00 p.m.
Poster Judging: Monday, March 15, 2027, 5:00 to 6:30 p.m. (You must be present for the entire judging period.)
Poster Removal: Tuesday, March 16, 2027, 6:30 p.m.
· An abstract may only be submitted once for the conference. Do not submit the same abstract if it has already been submitted or accepted for an oral or poster presentation in a TMS2027 symposium.
· Presenters must be present during the scheduled poster judging session on Monday, March 15 to answer questions and discuss their work.
· Each presenter may use up to 114 cm x 114 cm (45 in. x 45 in.) of display space. Posters exceeding this limit will not be displayed or eligible for judging. Display numbers will be assigned prior to the conference.
· Visual aids that help explain your work are encouraged. Do not display the full text of your paper. Graphics should be simple, colorful, clearly labeled, and readable from a distance of approximately 2 m (6 ft). The title should be printed in letters 2 cm (3/4 in.) to 5 cm (2 in.) high.
· Only in-person presentations are eligible for judging.
· Students may present only one poster in the contest.
· It is recommended that posters remain on display throughout the conference. Winning posters will receive an award ribbon that will remain attached to their poster for the remainder of the meeting.
· You must indicate whether you are an undergraduate or graduate student when submitting your abstract. This field is required. Abstracts submitted without this information will be rejected.
