Scope This topic encompasses innovative approaches to recycling and resource recovery, aiming to address challenges towards sustainable mining at a near-to-waste generation.

This symposium includes technologies (but not restricted to):

  • Hydrometallurgical, electrohydrometallurgical and pyrometallurgical processes to obtain critical metals from secondary sources;
  • Bio-based process for the recovery of critical metals from urban and mining waste;
  • Fundamental understanding of separation of metals in water-based systems;
  • Recovery of metals from metallurgical slags;
  • AI-based modeling for recycling process optimization
  • Projects evaluating economic viability and environmental impact of Recycling processes, while the establishment of technical standards ensures quality, safety, and harmonized practices across regions are motivated.
