This symposium will explore critical challenges and advancements in sustainability within light metals processing, emphasizing emissions control, waste management, and alloy design for recyclability.

Emissions Control & Remediation: Strategies for reducing greenhouse gas emissions and pollutants from primary and secondary metal processing, including carbon capture technologies and energy-efficient furnace designs.
Processing & Handling of Waste Products: Innovations in waste minimization and byproduct utilization, addressing dross, slag, and other residual materials.
Sorting & Handling of Scrap: Advances in automated scrap sorting, contamination mitigation, and improved handling techniques to maximize recovery and reduce material loss.
