| Scope |
Engineering ceramics play very crucial roles in structural and functional applications that require high-temperature stability, wear resistance, corrosion resistance, electrical functionality, optical performance, thermal management, and long-term reliability. This symposium will focus on recent advances in the processing, microstructure design and control, property evaluation, degradation behavior, reliability assessment, and industrial applications of engineering ceramics and composites.
Topics covered by this symposium include powder processing, forming, novel sintering, additive manufacturing, joining, coating, and other innovative processing routes for engineering ceramics. Particular emphasis will be placed on the relationships among processing conditions, microstructure development, properties and performance. Contributions addressing grain boundary engineering, phase control, defect formation, porosity, texture, residual stress, and interface design are also encouraged.
The symposium will also cover mechanical, thermal, electrical, optical, and multifunctional properties of engineering ceramics, including their evaluation under application-relevant environments. Researches on fracture, fatigue, creep, thermal shock wear, oxidation, corrosion, environmental approaches, including multiscale characterization, in-situ observation, AI-based modeling, data-driven analysis, and lifetime prediction, are welcome. |
