Scope Advances in additive manufacturing are revolutionizing the manufacturing industry at an exponential pace due to the increased potential of a larger design space to print fine features. In the last several decades, additive manufacturing capabilities, driven by industrial and consumer demand, have increased significantly leading to extreme technological advances. The additively manufactured components can accommodate high geometric complexity and thereby provide unique graded functionalities. A high level of freeform features is possible, both on internal and external surfaces within a complex 3D geometry. This symposium will focus on the design, materials, manufacturing, challenges, applications and areas of research in additive manufacturing. The areas for discussion also include power processing, systems and equipment’s, additive design and engineering, process and quality control, post-processing, and research topics. The materials of interest include metals, polymers, and ceramics.
Abstracts Due 05/15/2024
