| Scope | This symposium will focus on opportunities for electrification in iron and steelmaking processes. Topics will include electrification of ore processing (sintering, drying etc.), hydrogen direct reduction, thermal management, hydrogen plasma-based reduction, electrified furnaces (reheating, smelting and electric arc furnaces), and other novel technologies. We will also include a session on the evolution & development of electrical power generation, distribution, storage & management systems that underpin process electrification. Our symposium will include pyrometallurgy, hydrometallurgy, and cross pollination opportunities from connecting electrification strategies in other industries to iron and steelmaking.
