| Scope |
Refractory metals and materials are experiencing a period of renewed research interest spurred on by developments in a number of industries including aerospace, defense, energy generation, medical equipment, and more. In addition, recent advances in refractory metal coatings and additively manufactured refractory high-entropy alloys have found use in many industries, opening the possibility for even more advances in material systems and design. However, challenges remain with refractory metals and materials, primarily high-temperature oxidation resistance and maintaining mechanical properties at ultrahigh temperatures. This symposium invites submissions on refractory metals and materials from a diverse group of researchers spanning academia, government, and industry, covering topics related to refractory metals and materials through experimental, computational, or theoretical efforts. |
