| Abstract Scope |
Synchrotron radiation allows for working with outstanding high photon flux density which makes short acquisition times for X-ray imaging available in a routine manner. Especially polychromatic radiation has been proven in recent years to give access to imaging frame rates from several tens up to millions of images per second. Being a robust technique, high-speed X-ray radiography is highly suited to be coupled with in situ observations including materials processing relevant for industrial applications. Here, beamline ID19 operates within the public user program complex sample environments. Examples include among others laser processing of metals such as welding and 3D printing (additive manufacturing) as well as safety studies for batteries, fluid dynamics, and dynamic compression. Novel access mode such as beamtime block allocation group allow for efficient exploitation of ID19s unique capabilities. The presentation will give an overview of beamline instrumentation available in the public user program and recent applications. |
