Abstract Scope |
In this study, the deformation behavior and microstructural evolution under slow strain rate condition of a Fe–19Mn–6Al–1C lightweight steel were investigated using in-situ FESEM-EBSD microscopy (Field emission electron microscopy equipped with electron backscatter detector). The results revealed the critical role of stacking fault energy and deformation mechanisms in determining the mechanical response of the alloy. Microstructural analysis demonstrates a direct correlation between mechanical properties and the development of dislocation slip and deformation twinning. These findings provide valuable insights into the underlying deformation mechanisms of lightweight steels and offer guidance for the design of lightweight steels. |
