Abstract Scope |
Biomass has emerged as important source of raw material for materials scientists to design novel functional materials. Lignin, cellulose, and hemicellulose are the important constituent of biomass. In this presentation, I will present detailed fundamental research on the design and development of porous materials from biomass-based precursors. Detailed tomography and microscopy techniques will be used to study the intricate structures of the biofoams derived from biomass. Detailed mechanical and physical characterization of these biofoams will be presented. It is hypothesized that these foams can be used for different construction and absorption based applications. |
