| Abstract Scope |
Research and innovations continue to push the boundaries of materials science, offering promising solutions in several sectors. This research evaluated the influence of the addition of coupling agents on the composition of agglomerated rocks in a polymer matrix. All the agglomerated rocks produced showed improvements in the proposed tests: physical indices (apparent density, apparent porosity and water absorption), mechanical (3-point bending) and thermal (thermogravimetry); scanning electron microscopy images taken on the fracture surface of all compositions corroborate the positive results; better adhesion between inorganic and organic filler; thermogravimetric analyses of the resins used in the research, before and after the addition of coupling agents, clearly show an improved performance of the polymer matrix with this addition. |
