| Abstract Scope |
The electrolyte temperature in aluminum electrolysis cells is closely related to the thermal balance state and current efficiency. The variation patterns and trends of electrolyte temperature serve as the theoretical foundation for cell design and control. When flexible energy is implemented in electrolysis cells, the electrolyte temperature becomes more prone to losing control. Accurate prediction of electrolyte temperature is key to the success of flexible production trials. In this study, real-time online measurement devices were installed in several 500kA electrolysis cells, obtaining real-time electrolyte temperature variation data under various operational conditions. A transient thermo-electric field simulation model for the aluminum electrolysis cell was established, and simulations were conducted based on on-site test conditions. The simulation results showed good agreement with the measured data. This paper provides a quantitative ranking of the impact of various operations on the transient variation of electrolyte temperature. |
