| Abstract Scope |
Phase equilibrium data acquired during cooling often provides greater thermochemical sensitivity than those from traditional heating experiments. However, such measurements remain underutilized because fluids can undercool significantly, delaying phase transitions and compromising measurement accuracy. A non-contact mixing technique has been developed to mitigate undercooling during differential thermal analysis (DTA) measurements. A custom-built DTA has been developed to demonstrate this technique and is being tested on surrogate and uranium-bearing molten fuel salts. Results from these studies will be presented. |
