Abstract Scope |
There is more demand for biomedical implant materials nowadays due to the rapidly growing population of aged people in many countries. Ti-Mo-Zr alloys are promising examples of beta (β)-type Ti materials containing non-toxic and non-allergic alloying elements that can be used for bioimplant applications. This study focuses on characterizing the β-type Ti-14Mo-9Zr alloy fabricated by the vacuum arc melting technique. The alloys were characterized in as-cast and heat-treated conditions using optical microscopy, X-ray diffraction (XRD) analysis, Electron Backscatter Diffraction (EBSD) Vickers's hardness, and Nanoindentation tests. |
