Abstract Scope |
Building on the success of the EPSRC Centre – LiME, we have established the Future Liquid Metal Engineering Hub (Future LiME Hub), which is based in BCAST at Brunel University London. The core Hub activities are based in BCAST at Brunel University strongly supported by the our academic spokes at Oxford, Leeds and Manchester Universities and Imperial College and a large number of industrial partners covering the entire material supply chain. The long-term vision of the Future LiME Hub is full metal circulation, in which the global demand for metallic materials is met by a full circulation of secondary metals through reduced usage, reuse, remanufacture, closed-loop recycling and effective recovery and refining of secondary metals. This represents a paradigm shift for metallurgical science, manufacturing technology and the industrial landscape. This talk will focus on the collaborative effort required to achieve the vision. Specific case studies will be used to demonstrate the impact of fundamental research and industrial collaborations to industrial companies. |
