Ag-Cu-Sb is an important ternary system. Since its liquidus projection had not been determined in detail across the entire compositional range, it has been experimentally established in this study. The primary solidification phases were identified through quenching experiments. For phases that are difficult to distinguish, directional solidification experiments were conducted. Seven primary solidification phases were found: (Cu), (Sb), Cu₂Sb, Cu₃Sb, Ag₃Sb, Ag₇Sb, and (Ag), with no ternary compounds. The temperatures were determined using heating curves of Differential Scanning Calorimetry. The Ag-Cu-Sb liquidus projection was established based on ternary experimental results, the phase diagrams of its constituent binary systems, and phase equilibria data from the literature. In addition to the invariant reactions of the binary systems, there are five invariant reactions in the Ag-Cu-Sb ternary system: four class II reactions and one class I reaction. The reaction temperature of the class I reaction is 417.5°C. |
