| Abstract Scope |
Rocket engine components are typically subjected to harsh thermal and stress environments during their service life. To meet these service requirements, a novel oxide dispersion strengthened (ODS) alloy, called GRX-810, has been recently specifically designed for additive manufacturing (AM). Such alloy exhibits significantly improved properties, especially mechanical and oxidation-resistant properties at high temperatures, compared to standard nickel-based alloys. However, this ODS alloy has thus far been exclusively employed for component fabrication via laser powder bed fusion (L-PBF). To enable broader incorporation of novel materials into larger-scale components, this work investigated the use of HVOF thermal spray AM technique as a processing path for deposition of GRX-810 alloy. In this talk, it will be exposed our efforts for development of HVOF deposition window by explored the effects of key deposition parameters, along with microstructure characterization and mechanical properties evaluation of the as-deposited material. |
