About this Abstract

Meeting 2026 TMS Annual Meeting & Exhibition
Symposium Preparing Undergraduate and Graduate Students - and the Faculty who Prepare Them - for Materials Careers (The Judson Education Symposium)
Presentation Title Podcast Power: Strengthening the Materials Education Community
Author(s) Timothy Chambers, Steven Yalisove
On-Site Speaker (Planned) Timothy Chambers
Abstract Scope While materials science is a smaller field within engineering, it can still be difficult to meet and share ideas with colleagues across institutions. This short talk describes a podcast project that is helping to create visibility, form connections, and share best practices within the global materials education community. Undercooled: A Materials Education Podcast is now in its third season with over 50 episodes published. By interviewing guests from the student, industry, foundation, and faculty communities, we’ve started bridging these gaps within the broader materials education ecosystem. We’d love to hear your ideas for future podcast topics of interest!
