| Abstract Scope |
As the automotive industry shifts towards eco-friendly and low-carbon solutions, future EV platforms strongly demand high-strength, lightweight materials. This study presents the application and fabrication optimization of high-strength aluminum alloys for specialized EV platform components, specifically suspension mounting pipes. To replace heavy steel components, we optimized a high-precision, multi-stage cold forging process. By analyzing volumetric changes and dimensional accuracy, we successfully overcame the formability challenges inherent in high-strength aluminum. Furthermore, die design and manufacturing processes were enhanced using CAE simulations to predict and prevent stress concentration and forming defects. The optimized cold forging technology ensures the strict structural reliability required for EV suspension systems while significantly reducing vehicle weight. This advancement aligns with sustainable manufacturing goals and provides a highly productive alternative to conventional machining in the future mobility sector. |
