Abstract Scope Addressing the global call for sustainable materials management, this study explores the innovative recycling of cobalt alloy residues from dental applications, transforming them into functional coatings and tridimensional pieces through Laser Directed Energy Deposition (LDED). The research investigates the feasibility of repurposing cobalt alloy waste, a high value material in dental prosthetics, by employing LDED technology to create high-performance components and coatings. The process not only promotes a circular economy in the dental industry but also enhances material utilization efficiency. The findings reveal that recycled cobalt alloys, when processed via LDED, maintain desirable mechanical properties and demonstrate potential for extended service life.
