| Abstract Scope |
This study presents the numerical simulation of a low-energy anode assembly designed for aluminum electrolysis cells. A coupled thermo-electric finite element model of the novel anode assembly was developed using the ANSYS APDL platform. By comparing the novel anode assembly with traditional anode assembly, all the thermal and electrical boundary conditions are the same except the assembly structure. Through comparative simulation, the optimized low-energy anode assembly demonstrates a significant reduction in electrical resistance, achieving a voltage drop decrease of approximately 31 mV compared with traditional anode assemblies, and the current distribution of the novel anode assembly is more uniform. |
