Abstract Scope |
To ensure high performance of the Hall-Héroult process, efficient operation of the fluoride recovery system is essential. This takes place in the Gas Treatment Center (GTC), which treats gases from alumina reduction and recovers fluoride through unit operations. System efficiency depends on the proper functioning of equipment such as bag filters, cyclones, separators, main fans and pneumatic transport systems. Daily inspections help detect early failures and minimize process impacts. To enhance inspection management and equipment reliability, a Power Apps application was developed. It allows operators to log anomalies found during area checks and immediately open maintenance orders for any deviations. The implementation of this tool enabled the registration and traceability of equipment with the highest failure rates, while also reducing downtime, lowering fluoride total emissions, and accelerating fault detection. |
