| Abstract Scope |
This study investigates the microstructural characteristics and deformation mechanisms of a ternary equiatomic alloy, namely NbTaTi with Al additions. The Al7(NbTaTi)93 alloy featured a BCC matrix with acicular Ti-rich precipitates and blocky Ti-rich precipitates at grain boundaries. The addition of Al resulted in the formation of the ordered B2 phase upon aging. The deformation mechanisms observed were strongly influenced by the morphology and distribution of the ordered phases within the alloy. These findings contribute to a deeper understanding of structure-property relationships in complex high entropy alloy systems. |
