Abstract Scope An exploratory effort to assess thermomechanical processing of polycrystalline γ-γ' cobalt alloys was conducted using a model Co-Al-W-Ni-Ta-Ti system with a relatively low concentration of W. Hot isothermal compression tests were completed at both supersolvus and subsolvus temperatures using strain-rates relevant to wrought production practices. The resulting flow behavior will be presented in context of microstructural observations. Further, a method for adding dynamic recrystallization (DRX) contributions to a temporal mean-field grain size evolution model will be proposed.
