| Abstract Scope |
HP alloys and their variants commonly utilised in the petrochemical industry have historically been reliant on TEM methods for accurate phase identification. This severely limits the sampling area and efficiency in their characterisation. EBSD has been shown to be a promising method for accurate phase analysis. However, the presence of multiple phases sharing similar crystal structures often renders commercial EBSD analysis software ineffective in phase identification.
Refined template matching has been shown to be a effective technique to allow EBSD to be applied to HP alloys. However, data processing and re-indexing can be time and computationally expensive. In this work, different data analysis approaches to expedite analyses are presented. Furthermore, the microstructure and phase transformations in various HP alloy variants are analysed using the proposed workflows. This work was supported by EPSRC [EP/S022635], and Paralloy Group.
