| Abstract Scope |
Pulsed laser annealing (PLA) of LCMO cathodes provides an effective strategy for enhancing electrical conductivity by increasing the concentration of oxygen-vacancy-related defects. Under optimized processing conditions, this approach improves the current-carrying capacity of LCMO cathodes by approximately 30%. PLA modifies the atomic structure of LCMO primarily through the generation of anionic vacancies and antisite defects, both of which influence charge transport and electrochemical behavior. In this work, PLA was employed to intentionally create oxygen vacancies, thereby enhancing the electrical conductivity of the cathode material. In addition to defect engineering, PLA also induces surface nanostructuring, promotes LiF coating formation, and facilitates partial removal of surface binder residues. These combined effects contribute to improved electrode–electrolyte interaction and enhanced lithium-ion battery performance. |
