| Abstract Scope |
Structural alloys are the backbone of our infrastructure, modern industry, energy and aerospace systems. However, it normally takes decades to develop and deploy a new structural metal, which has been a long-standing bottleneck that prevents technology advancement (e.g., energy systems, hypersonic flight) and limits product capabilities and performance. This talk will present our efforts and progress on creating an autonomous machine for accelerated bulk alloys discovery and manufacturing with the focus on seamless transition from new materials discovery to industrial production. The goal is to achieve 100x speed increase for structural metals development to enable a new era of materials-on-demand. |
