High-resolution SLA additive manufacturing enables customized filtration systems. Cubic anti-tetra-chiral auxetic structures were fabricated using a high-tenacity urethane acrylate resin, ensuring precise geometric fidelity. Due to its negative Poisson's ratio, the structure acts as an active filter where external pressure modulates internal density and permeability. To optimize performance, two orthogonal transverse channel configurations were incorporated. This architecture induced a highly turbulent flow regime that maximizes particle and microorganism collision and retention. Finally, channels were infiltrated with base resin and rice hull fiber biocomposites (5–30 wt%). Concentrations of 5–20 wt% coated internal pore walls, while 30 wt% occluded cavities. Tests showed that the perpendicular configuration maximizes turbulence, demonstrating that natural fibers enhance physicochemical selectivity without restricting the filter's auxetic properties or compromising permeability under compressive stress. |
