Sintering is the critical mechanism of powder consolidation in many 3D printing processes. In this study, the two-dimensional lattice Boltzmann method (LBM) is employed to simulate the sintering behavior of two particles during sintering. The effects of varying particle radius ratios, including both symmetric and asymmetric cases, on neck formation and evolution are systematically investigated. Particular attention is given to the sintering kinetics governed by the synergistic interplay between surface energy minimization and atomic diffusion. |
